Slow Food – University Major Project

Recipe book blurb

Stop, take a breath, slow down for a while
Head down to the garden, be ready to smile
Your children are there all covered with dirt
Pulling out weeds in an old painting shirt

They look up to see you and break into a grin
While the cicadas, so cheerful, make quite a din
Together you look for what’s ready, what’s ripe
And search for the things that are hid out of sight

As the children help out, they learn and they grow
All about veges, there is lots they can know!

They know how the food on their plate came to be
From this garden, right here, not another country
They know how things grow and are  now starting to try
To eat them, to cook them in the kitchen.  My, my!
In this book there’s some info; the how tos and the what’s
To grow in your very own gardening plots

You know that the veges will come in good time
And when they arrive, they’ll be in their prime
Sweet and nutritious and flavoursome too
With nothing too nasty, no poisonous goo

So have a wee look, and chose what to grow
Then go buy some seeds all ready to sow
Take the time, take a breath, sow down just a bit
Be sure that the garden will be quite a hit
